Sepilok Orang Utan Rehabilitation Centre / Gomantong Caves Sukau Kinabatangan River Cruise / City Tours

Day 1

Meet at the airport or hotel lobby and transfer to Sepilok Orang Utan Rehabilitation Centre. The world famous rehabilitation centre and conservation area. Orphaned and injured Orang Utan are brought to Sepilok to be rehabilitated to return to forest life. Sepilok is a primary lowland rainforest, a fine showcase of Borneo’s remaining rainforest. Watch the scheduled video documentary show at the Sepilok Information building. The 20 minutes video show will give you an insight of the Orang Utan rehabilitation process and its threats to survival.Trek ten minutes through the rainforest on wooden plank walks to witness the feeding of the orang utans at 1000hrs. After your morning affair with the Orang utan, overland to Sukau / Bilit Kinabatangan River journey approximately take two hours drive. On arrival proceed to Bilit Rainforest Lodge for check in. Late afternoon boat river cruise to explore the lower Kinabatangan River which the second longest river in Malaysia to search some of the 10 species primates of Borneo, including the odd nose Monkeys of Borneo called Proboscis Monkeys “Nasalis Larvatus” which endemic to Borneo, Long & Pig Tail Macaques, Silver leaf Langur, the Wildman of Borneo or “Orang Utan” and many other deferent species of birds, Hornbill, Kingfisher, Oriental Darter, Storm Stork etc. Overnight. Meals: Lunch/ Dinner

Day 2

After breakfast check out and depart for Gomantong Caves approximately will take 30minutes drive. On arrival, trek fifteen minutes on wooden plank walk to explore the Simut Hitam caves or “the black nest caves “ which famous for edible birds nest for Chinese delicacy. Overland back to Sandakan town for lunch before continue for sightseeing city tours.

Sightseeing city tour:-

Explore the Central Market where produce from the hinterland and fresh seafood are on sales . The market is also the focal point for socialising among the locals. Drive up to the Chinese Buddhist Temple “Puuh Jih Shi” located on a hill where you can see the colourful interior decoration of this magnificent temple with a commanding view. Continue the journey to the water village where you can see houses build on stilt above the water occupied by Sea Gypsy’s people or “Bajau laut” Transfer to Sandakan airport for your flight to Kita Kinabalu or Hotel.
